Celluloid Bikers are a Dunedin based jazz-rock duo. Comprising guitarist and semi-reformed composer ALex Wolken and drummer Adam Stewart, they deliver an intoxicating mixture of transformed standards, adapted originals and exploratory improv.
With influences veering between Steely Dan and Mingus, Elvis Costello and Horace Silver, they strive for that sweet spot somewhere between various past adventures but outside any known tradition. Familiar but different.
